Washington city parks are awesome...and they are located all over the place. Each one surrounded by beautiful trees and manicured lawns. It's amazing. Some of the parks are classic and then others are built in this new ergonomic inspired version. Such is the case in the photos of this post.
Kenny and Kale are demonstrating the "sit and spin"...you twist the little platforms up the poles and then sit on them and they will slowly (or not so slowly) unwind and twist down the pole.KK and Abby enjoy this version of "the twister". Here someone sits (or stands) on the little black platform and then can either be spun by another or can use their own weight to continually spin around and around until you are too dizzy to hold on anymore or want to get sick.
Brogan climbing the twisted monkey bars.
Jack...taking a rest. Just behind Jacks head you can see a thin blue piece of plastic....that's the slide. You are supposed to straddle it and then slide down as it wobbles back and forth (but doesn't ever flip over). It freaks a lot of kids out the first few times. And THIS little gem is a ton of fun. KK, Abby and Kenny have each grabbed onto a handle on top, then they use the tiny platform below to balance on, get a bit of a running start and then lift their feet and spin wildly around....a kid powered merry-go-round, sort of.
And once again, we have Grandpa to thank for introducing us to this park and taking the kids every chance he got.
