Remember the pack of military themed fireworks we bought for Brogan (see older posts if you need a reminder)...well, he got to light them all by himself (with supervision, of course).
This one, above, is a little moon rover. It shot sparks (as they all do) and then little tiny spinning disks exploded from it and danced across the parking lot. Very exciting.
This may have been one of the favorites. In the image above you can see the long bed missile launcher blasting across the pavement in preparation for blast off...
This is the missile blasting off.
Fortunately it just blew a bunch of smoke and did NOT shoot off into the air. Although, that would have been super cool.
This one is a helicopter. The blades did some fancy spinning and spark spitting. Then the back opened up and two very cute tiny tanks burst out (already on fire) and shot even more sparks. It was another favorite.
This air missile (which the boy did NOT light himself) was supposed to look like a happy face when it exploded. Perhaps if you squint at it you might see where they were going with that. Regardless, it was a pretty little burst in the sky. We listened and watch our neighbors light fireworks off well into the night. What a way to celebrate our freedom. We all listened to a lot of patriotic songs all day, the kids (and adults) all seemed to really like "I'm Proud to be an American". And Brogan gave us quite a stirring rendition of Katy Perry's "Firework"...which isn't particularly patriotic, but was appropriate and super cute, so we let it slide. What a great day...and night!
