Bzr's Art Show

Brian's art show reception was today. He had 11 pieces turned in but only 10 on display. One piece sold before the reception and actually didn't even make it into the show very long. The second one sold at the end of the reception to a very wonderful and lucky lady. Notice the red dot on the painting "Nantucket" in the photo with Dad and Lori? That means it's "sold". All the paintings are beautiful and the walls at our house look empty without them hanging there, but we are happy to have them hanging in other's homes as well. Thank you Glenn and Lori for making the trip down to spend the weekend with us. We enjoyed having you here and are eager to have you return again. All around the show was a success and we are all very proud of Brian.

These are pictures of the kids outside in the sculpture garden. The mammoth was Brogan's favorite. Cass loved the horses and Kayla would have spent all day on the swing (we may need one like this at our camp). While we were looking at one particular installment Cassidy suddenly declared, "SNAKE". And she was right. Even snakes can appreciate art, it seems.

Candle Pin Bowling

We took Grandpa and Lori candle pin bowling. Cassidy had the highest score. Brogan even got in on the fun. Check out Grandpa's bowling form....looks professional, doesn't it? At one point Brogan had all 3 balls slowly rolling toward the pins at once. Brian helped with that one. We all had fun and have determined that we will do this every time Grandpa and Lori come to visit.

Kayla Graduates from Pre-School

Kayla's preschool days are now officially over. She graduated on Friday. Grandpa & Lori came to celebrate and so did one of Kayla's baby sitters, Jamie. Kayla was so happy and we are all so proud of her. She had some amazing days and experiences while at her preschool and she will miss it. But, onto bigger things. Next up: Kindergarten.

I'm a REALLY big kid now....

It has been months since Brogan has enjoyed his jumper. We were cleaning our bedroom and went to put it into storage. Brogan saw it and wanted to give it a go. So, we figured why not? He looks HUGE in it now but he had SO much fun. He really is such a Big Boy now.

Wish Bone Magic

The girls participated in the ago old ritual of breaking the wish bone.

For the first time in our lives Brian and I watched a tie!

Both girls get to have their wishes granted. Cass wished to ride a horse. Very reasonable. Kayla, on the other hand: "I wished for a bow bedroom, a bow bed, bow walls...bow EVERYTHING. That would be SO cool." UGH.

Primary Activity

At the Church Primary activity last weekend the girls did this:

A Hairy Situation

This day was bound to come. And for us, it was Saturday night. We had spent the day cleaning and organizing downstairs in the basement. We came across some photos of Brian with his head shaved. He determined that it was time to shave his head again. It isn't his best look though and I managed to talk him out of it. Well, Brian decided that *someone* was going to get their head shaved that night and if it wasn't going to be him, it was going to be...the boy. (SIGH) Check out the before, during and after photos below.

Lots of people at church today said that the cut makes him look older. Brian thinks it makes him look fast. I just lament the loss of the longer silvery blond locks that I happily ran my fingers through during his bottle time. Oh well, hair grows back and it's a good time to go short.

More Camp Pictures...

We don't quite understand it, but for some reason this red and white striped stocking hat is a coveted item among the cousins. One of them is always wearing it. There is a scarf that matches it but we managed to convince KK that it wasn't quite THAT cold. The hat wasn't about to come off though. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand with the new rakes they were given. Brog, Estelle and Whitney worked hard to fill a bucket with sand and water. It was a very beautiful day. The next morning it was cold and rainy again but as we drove home the weather warmed and we arrived to find that the weekend had been warm enough to encourage the buds to open on the trees, flowers to explode from the ground and birds to frantically build nests. Kayla exclaimed, "Look, popcorn trees!". It's nice to be seeing some warmer weather again.
