U2 Live in Seattle!

Yesterday Seattle was sunny and warm with clear skies overhead (the weather's always like that right?)
We visited the Pike Place Market to watch people throw fish, we checked out local artists, walked through the flower sellers and then...

...we were lucky enough to attend U2's concert at Qwest Field with 70,000 of our fellow U2 fans. Compliments of Shan's generous (and pretty cool) dad! Thanks, Ken!

This is the stage, known as "the claw" or the "space ship." When introducing the band Bono said, "Despite what you may have heard, I'm a man of simple tastes... 70,000 people, a fleet of articulated lorries and a hundred and sixty foot space ship and I'm happy."

Lenny Kravitz was the opening act. That's him in the middle. Yeah, right there.

At 9pm "Space Oddity" came on over the loudspeakers (Ground control to Major Tom...) and U2 took to the stage. The space ship lights up!

I highly recommend this show to anyone who Still Hasn't Found What You're Looking For! It's Even Better Than the Real Thing! It moves in Mysterious Ways! It was the perfect end to a Beautiful Day in this City of Blinding Lights! It was the Sweetest Thing!

This part was cool. Bono says, "We have this magic trick we like to do. Let's turn off all the lights, and I want everyone to get out their phone and hold it up."

The show was just awesome. They played for two and a half hours, and they hit every song we could have asked for. It was a big, loud party that went on for ever. Just like a sabbatical!

they were in salt lake the other week at the stadium just two blocks from our house. We sat in our backyard and listened and I was amazed at all the hits they played! PS- i also found the claw rather strange
